Our organisation has started in May 2007 by sponsoring Jainaba Bittaye. We were looking for co-parents. Those parents should engage themselves by buying a picture from Jainaba for 5€
Jainaba is born the 8 of April 2004 at Manjai Kunda in the Gambia. Her father is a tailor and her mother a housewife. She going to the Nyodema Nursery School at Manjai Kunda. We are helping her by paying all the school fees: the school uniform, the school diners… until she will finish her studying.

How to become co-parent?
By buying every year a picture from Jainaba.
On this site or by mail we keep you in touch with Jainaba by presenting you the school progress, the family situation and you can also send us some gifts for the family.
At the beginning of the month of November 2007 we have been sending a box with gifts for Jainaba. There was also a letter included.

In the meantime we have also received some pictures and a letter of Jainaba

Hallo Alex and the entire family. It’s a great pleasure to write you back. Before going on Jainaba and her family would like to say a big “Thank You”. You are special and wonderful. Anything has been highly appreciated. Jainaba is always happy for you.
Jainaba and her family are called ‘The Bittaye family” as our father has a polygamous family with three wifes and our mothers is the second wife. Our mother is called Fatou Bittaye, our father is Abdou Bittaye. I, the oldest sister of Jainaba and the first born of my mother called Rokey Bittaye. With the age of nineteen with three other brothers, Abdouila who is sixteen, Omar Bittaye who is fourteen and also Babu who is ten. We are all engage in school.
Mariam Bittaye is a sister of Jainaba as we all have the same father. Mariama ‘s mother is the first wife and she is also called Fatou Bittaye.

Jainaba would always work very hard as we would always support her in her schoolwork because education is our priority.

Jainaba and the family would be very happy to welcome you. You are always welcome as you are part of her family.

Once more we thank the whole family of the Huveneers, including your wife Martine Saenen and Elke and Ineke with the whole of the Senegambiagroup.

As mummy always said “Anybody who support you in education, you own him a lot”. So therefore if there was any other word that is bigger than the word “Thank You” we would say it.

Wishes you all the best with long live and good health.
From Jainaba and the entire family

In December 2007 we went to the Gambia and visited Jainaba in school and at home. It was a very nice experience. Jainaba were in school very timid but at home she was more spontaneous.

We have given also next letter for Jainaba.

Hello Jainaba,

Here finally again a letter from the Senegambiafamily. Like you already know, we sell pictures of you to gather enough money so that you can go to school. This year 15 families have bought a picture from you and different families, who support you, have brought a lot of stuff to put it in your packet. So the packet is not only from the Senegambiafamily, but also from the most of your co-parents, who all would like you to give a chance to good education. We all hope that you are pleased with your packet, that you experience a lot of fun with it and that it is a assistance in your life.

Jainaba, we hope to visit you soon again, maybe still this year, but probably we will come with some people to Gambia at the start of February and then we will certainly visit you. Please write us a letter, so that we also hear something from you. If you need anything special, certainly let us know.

When you get this letter, the raining season has already pasted and the school has started. Here in Belgium then there will be bad weather with a lot of rain and it will be very cold. But don't forget that we think a lot of you and we hope that you are making it fine. You can find more information about us, our projects and yourself at:http://senegambiagroup.com/lang1/jainaba_bittaye.html.

See you soon

Best Regards
The Senegambiafamily

End of December 2008 we received some pictures and a letter
