Education:
Lot of different organisations are working on sponsoring schools and children with good results, that's why we've chosen to support those projects to support children's school education. If you wish a child is able to go to school you can sponsor our project with € 65 a year and we deliver you a fiscal attest that is proving your support. On your demand we send you more information on this.
Health:
Some years ago a helping project has built some constructions at Marakissa; one to give shelter to bedridden people…but this house has rarely been used. The main reason for this situation is because the people don't have enough money and lot of bills have not been payed yet. Lot of sick people are forced to stay home where the family has to take care.
The other building is used as a consulting office and daily care centre.
In this building a nurse is working daily and half a day she gets help from a doctor and 2 other nurses.
They have chosen to keep this health centre in best conditions rather than working on the other building.
Due to the high local temperature we think it's not wise sending medicines, the more these are available at Banjul too.
The local doctor is going to send us a list of medical goods they urgently need and tell us how we can help them for the best.
Employment:
People need support in a way they can escape from daily help from others which is not an easy task. "Don't give a man two fishes but please teach him how to fish and he will get food the rest of his life." …this is the best way of long term helping.
This is also why we are always looking for small projects that can give result in short time, which give us the chance to realize different ones.
Mamadou Jassey is giving us the best example. His parents saved all their money to pay his schoolfees..but Jassey obtained his degree as woodworker. We bought him a lot of working tools which gave him chance to start his own shop. The starting capital we spend was €100… a lot of people can't afford this.
Feeding:
With big efforts and every day watering, Kaddy Dammeh and her mother are trying to keep Kaddy's garden green all day.
By helping them with gardening tools, seets and small advise we try to support them in their fight against hot temperature and dry feelds.
